So I'm letting my cat attack and claw at my hand while I'm reading. It doesn't really bother me because I have a pretty high tolerance for pain.

Suddenly, just while a demon is having it's hand cut off in my book, my hand starts to really hurt. I shake the cat off and examine my hand. It doesn't look too bad; a few teeth marks, some scratches, that's about it. But my middle finger joint is totally killing me >.< On top of that, it's making it really hard to type and do really anything with my right hand, which is bad because I'm right handed.

I know it's my fault because I shouldn't have let the cat rip my hand apart, but damn! I've never felt pain like this in my hand! On top of that, I'm trying to make cupcakes. Forget decorating them, though. I'll do that in the morning, when my hand doesn't scream at me for grasping something. Hopefully a good night sleep will put my hand right.

I hate it when I'm reading a series that I'm really into for the first 4 books and then the 5th book just bores me to tears. Technically, it's two trilogies and I'm in the 2nd book of the 2nd trilogy, but they have the same narrator in all the books so... yeah, it's all one series. Anyways, I have 312 pages to go and I honestly don't think I can finish this :-/ I think I'm going to take it back to the library and maybe get back to it later. I may need to take myself out of the historic fantasy setting for a bit and start reading something a little more modern.

Anyways, if anyone out there has read Golden Fool by Robin Hobb, I'm at the part where the Bingtown traders first come to Buckkeep. Is it worth it to keep going or is the book just going to keep dragging itself down?

Yay, computer's fixed! That means no more tweets for you guys :-P

And yay, change in default icon! Hanukkah is next week so I figured I'd keep this one up until after the first few nights then I'll switch over to my Christmas icon ^.^

And... that's it. Watching The Santa Clause 2 with Justin 'cause him and I've never really done the whole curl up with hot cocoa and watch Christmas movies thing. And we're still not right now but we will this year, darn it! I'll make sure of that!

I dunno... I've never done the whole romantic Christmas thing. And I've never been into the whole romantic thing to begin with. But this year I kinda want to... I don't know. Maybe I'm being weird. Whatever, it's kinda nice even if I am being weird.

And now it's time to make cookies. 'cause cookies are awesome and need to be made! ^.^

So my computer has the virus from hell on it. After talking with quite a few people, I've decided it would be best if I took it in to someone to have it fixed. Of course, this means I'm without a computer for however long it takes them to fix this. So I stole JP's computer for a bit and I'm getting a few things set up.

First off, this is for bowtie: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SFIC59GY

Secondly, I kinda hate doing this, but at least it'll put some form of update on here while I'm gone. Until I get my computer back, I'm going to have twitter send updates to my LJ. I find it easier to text twitter then to post through LJTXT (because the past 2 posts I've sent haven't been posted) so... yeah, I'm just going to do that. Once I get my computer back, I'll change it back over again.

And I guess that's it. See you all when I get my computer back ^.^

So Assassin's Creed 2 came out this past Tuesday and no matter how much I think about it, I can't justify spending $60 on a video game. At least not right now. So I was poking at the Gamestop website and saw that they were doing a few trade-in specials. Now that's something I could get behind. Take in a few games I don't play anymore, get my new nifty game and I won't have the guilt trip that goes with it. So I get together like... 10 games (360, Wii and DS) that I don't ever play and take them in. Now, there are two specials going on. One is if I turn in 6 games, I get an extra 40% credit and the other is for every game I put towards Assassin's Creed 2, I get an extra 25%. So 6 games for the 40% and 4 games for the 25%. Separate transactions and all that jazz. So I'm thinking I may not have to buy the game at all, and if I do, it'll be like $5-$10 at most. So I ask him to check for me to see how much it was going to be and I would make a decision based off of that.

For 10 games, I would have gotten a $21 credit, which really didn't seem right. Sure, I would only be paying $39 for my game now, but still, 10 games just to get $21 off? It really didn't seem worth it. So I thanked him and went on my way. This was this past Saturday.

Today I was checking the Cult of Rapture website and saw that they're releasing a special edition BioShock 2, which I am totally jazzed about. As a side note, it's interesting that I'm willing to pay $99 for the special edition of BioShock 2 but I'm not willing to pay $60 for AC2. But anyways, I saw that and went down to my local gamestop to switch my reservation over from just the game to the special edition, which ended up being rather silly of me because they didn't even have it in their system yet. But while I was there I saw that they're having a different special: Trade in two eligible games and get AC2 for $19.99. Now this seemed like a better deal. So after asking, out of curiousity, what kind of credit I would get if I turned in my Nintendo DS ($30. Pft, I'll keep it, thank you very much) I took the list and headed out to see which games I had that were on the list. Once home, I realized I had quite a few games on the list, but none of which I was willing to get ride of. So, in the end, I still don't have AC2 but I really don't think I'm all that upset about it. Especially since I saw the Bioshock special edition this morning:

But I still would kinda like to have it. I'm considering putting up some games and such on e-bay... maybe. I keep flipping back and forth on my DS. I haven't played it in like 9 months but I still kinda don't want to get rid of it. Eh, I don't know.

Anyways, the real point to this is that it's not really worth it to trade in videogames anymore. I remember with Fallout 3, I think, we traded in 4 games and still had credit left over. Now with the 10 games plus $40, one is better off just keeping the games. Especially since I think I have 1 or 2 that I haven't finished yet ^.^

Note: I typed this up at some point last week but I didn't finish it so I never posted it. But since LJ was kind enough to save it for me, I thought I might as well post it anyway.

Jeremy Danvers from the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. There's just something about him that makes me feel all warm inside ^.^

Funny thing about this question is that Jeremy was the very first that came to mind and when I tried to think of others, I still ended up sticking with him. I went through my recent books and came up with Kyler Stern and FitzChivalry Farseer but while I love reading about them, I don't think I'd want to date them. Same with Edward from the Anita Blake series and, thinking back to early middle school, Tobias from the Animorphs series (speaking of which, I found all of my Animorph books in the garage last month. I had sooooooooooo many of those books! And almost as many Goosebumps books) and quite a few others. And I can't even think of anyone from a movie or a TV show. How about a video game? I could totally go for Master Chief from Halo. Or not... yeah, the armor's sexy but what about the person under the armor? And he seems a little too into the saving the world thing. Not much time for dating, I would think.

So yeah, Jeremy for sure.

Explain in five sentences why you're using that wallpaper!
03. Don't change your wallpaper before doing this! I have a habit of changing my background on a biweekly bases. If I did this a few days ago, it would have been something from Monochrome Factor and before that it was Conrad and Wolfram from Kyo Kara Maoh and before that it was a picture of a whale that I took at Sea World. Anyways, I'm only 15 episodes into the series but I totally love Break! He reminds me of a mix of Bez and Cayden (two roleplaying characters of JP and mine), he's a little crazy, and he makes me smile so naturally I'm going to choose him out of all the other characters to look at every day ^.^

... at least until I change my background again :-P

It's been nearly a month since I posted something of substance and since JP nearly scared me to death, I figure I should do a quick update before he kills me :-P

So lessee... It's August. Justin had a birthday; he's old now. Went to Sea World a few times and totally fangirled over the beluga whales. Oh my gosh, I got so many pictures!

Went to Catalina Island for a few days and discovered that I'm a paranormal black hole. After a wonderful jeep tour around the island, I was dragged back to the mainland most unwillingly.

Oh, and somewhere in all that, Justin's parents came out to visit. Like always, he's father's pretty cool, his mother is a loon.

Started going to church recently. So far it's been 3 Sundays in a row. Still not sure if this is going to become a regular thing or not.

Started reading the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. Enjoyed the first book but was tempted to throw it across the room many times. Looking forward to starting the next book.

And... that's really it. Surprisingly, this has been a rather eventful month.

So yeah, remember that food poisoning from the weekend before last? Apparently it wasn't food poisoning because it's back with a fucking vengeance >.<

So yeah, here's my symptoms:

-Tightness of Chest/Chest pains
-Numbness in my left arm
-Shortness of breath
-Vomiting

I honestly thought I was having a heart attack of some sort at first but I tossed that theory away when it became obvious that I wasn't going to lose consciousness or just fall over dead.

Maybe I have heart disease. That would be lovely. I'm 24 and already have 1 foot in the grave with the other quickly following.

I probably should be scared or worried, but for the most part I'm just really pissed off. This really, really hurts and I can't lay down because it just makes the pain worse. I'm tired, I have stuff to do in the morning, I don't have time for this BS.

If my body is trying to warn me of my impending doom, I wish it would just kill me and be done with it because seriously, this pain is getting to be too much to deal with -.-
